As is tradition, Sthlm Food & Wine, together with wine connoisseur Fredrik Schelin, will curate a specific area for the best of drinks – namely Champagne! We sat down with Fredrik to get some info about this year’s event and what not to miss in Avenue de Champagne this year.
Hello Fredrik! Who are you?
– I am a passionate champagne expert with a clear vision: to inspire people to enjoy champagne in the very best way. My goal is to offer a unique opportunity for consumers to try a wide range of champagnes and discover their own personal flavor profile – whether from well-known large champagne houses or small, exclusive growers.
What can you expect in the Avenue de Champagne?
– During the days of the Champagne Fair, the Avenue de Champagne is filled with a lively atmosphere, where visitors from all over the country gather to discover new wines and enjoy fruitful conversations. The relaxed yet festive atmosphere makes everyone feel welcome, and the scent of freshly opened champagne bottles permeates the air.
And finally – what’s not to miss this year?
As is tradition, we have a schedule of special champagne bottle openings that are normally hard to come by. Throughout the event, each exhibitor will have a designated time when they will open a unique bottle – something you really don’t want to miss! In addition to this, each exhibitor will of course have several other champagnes open for tasting, so you can get to know the character and style of the producer in a real way.
